What kind of person would I be if I didn't post pictures from all the fun visitors we've had lately?! First my Dad came back in March. We had so much fun. We kept him busy going to Multnomah Falls, a Blazers game, Omsi, voodoo (mmm... voodoo), and Clackamall. I know what you're thinking...what's a Clackamall? It's a mall over in Clackamas, but years ago Eden called it Clackamall, and that's just what we call it now :) If you've been around us for any length of time, you may have noticed that we kind of have our own language in these parts...and I love it. I think Eden's favorite part was when Papa told her he'd take us out for dinner. She got to choose what 'dinner store' we went to. She chose Red Robin. We had such a fun night, and a great visit with Papa!

On Tuesday Eden let me in on a little secret. She said "Guess what Mom, tomorrow it's Baby Six birthday!" I had no idea. Thanks goodness she told me, otherwise the whole day would have gone by like most any other...but instead this happened!

Eden loves to color. It started out just being a few scribbles with one color on a piece of paper. Next it was a bunch of colors, but still only using a little bit of the paper.

Then it was the whole entire sheet of paper covered in every color crayon she had. Then one day she asked me to draw her, so I did a stick girl. A few minutes later she did this.

The next day I asked if she wanted to draw a picture for Uncle Tom. She knows Uncle Tom loves flowers, so she colored him this

I LOVE this picture. I'm not going to lie, it was hard for me to send it away, but it was for Uncle Tom not me. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Eden's birthday came early this year...ok, not really...but her party did! She was so excited to have a pink princess party. Honestly, the girl has been talking about it since Ronin's party. I know what you're thinking...'When was Ronin's birthday? It couldn't have been that long ago...wasn't it just your last post?' Yes, yes it was. I'm a decent party planner, and a horrible blogger!

This was Eden's first friends party. She told me who she wanted to invite, picked out princess invitations, and told me what kind of cake she wanted. All I had to do was make it happen. Anything for my little princess! It was a great time. Eden loved it, and I loved watching her love it!

I was looking on my friends blog- and on her list it says 'Kinsey blog' updated 4 days ago. I thought 'Umm I didn't update 4 days ago...did I? Did Dustin'? And then I realized. I started the following blog about Ronins birthday the other day...or as it turns out 4 days ago, and finally just got around to doing it/ posting it today. Thanks a lot blogger. Way to embarass me. Telling everyone it took that long to do one little post. Guess what...I'm a busy girl. I don't always finish the things I set out to do all at once. Ask my laundry. This post only took 3 minutes. Maybe you could update that on everyones lists (heehee)!

We had a great time celebrating Ronins first birthday! He is just the cutest little monkey, which is why I made him this cake! I really don't have too much to say. We had a few friends come over, had some BBQ, opened presents, and ate some cake. It may not have been on the same level as Eden's first birthday, but we all had a great time.

I wish I would have got this on video: See that cool dump truck he just opened. If you press a button it rumbles and then if it weren't in a box, it would move. Well Dus pressed the button and Ronin freaked right out. I've never seen him crawl over to me so fast. He kept trying to climb higher up my lap, and his little heart was racing. He HATED that toy, so we took it back. Good job Dustin, way to know your son (jokes). I thought he'd like it too!

It also makes me want to continue tickling you or keep making weird noises so I can hear it longer. You love to play with your ball popper toy and make T-rex sounds. Your favorite game is peekaboo around the couch. You do not like to sit still, and you dislike books (like your Dad). You love your sister. She can make you laugh harder than anyone, she can make you cry harder than anyone too. You love to crawl all over your Dad, and chase him around the couch. And as for me Ronin...well, you're crazy about me. Good thing the feeling is mutual. You are quite literally the reason I wake up in the morning, and the reason I can't sleep through the night...and I love you!

About a month and a half or so ago we were driving home from Church, and we asked Eden what she learned about in nursery. She said " I learned about Temples. Yeah, I like them. I want to go to there...please!" The next day was Memorial Day (Dustin didn't have school) so we took a drive to show Eden the temple. She loved it! We had a great time just walking around the grounds, smelling the flowers, and playing around the fountain. It was a great day! I love that at 2 and a half Eden already has a love of going to see the Temple!

Hi family and friends! Sorry about the picture strike. I just can't seem to find the time to sit down and blog anymore! Eden is done with naps, therefore no 'me time' in the day, and unfortunately Ronin still needs me in the night, so no 'me time' in the night either. It's a good thing I'm so crazy about them, otherwise I'd be complaining. Life is good, busy, but good! I was going to post more pictures (believe it or not- even though it's 1:27 am) but the blog is telling me there's an error with the autosave- so I'm not going to risk it by trying to add more.

We had a fantastic Christmas break staying in Portland, doing whatever we wanted. So here is some of what we've been up to. Where to start...

The basketball game. Our sweet friends Mike and Amber invited us to his staff Christmas party and even let us bring these two along. We had the best time! Great people, yummy food, oh, and did I mention the box seats! I don't know if I can ever go back to regular seats again! Eden loved being able to run around- and she was so cute cheering for the Trailblazers!

Next stop: The Stepping Stone Cafe. We discovered this little jewel on the tv show Man vs Food. Why would we wait outside in the rain just to eat at this place...? One word...

MANCAKES! A pancake fitting of its title. It was huge, and so delicious!

Here we are at Peacock Lane. It's a street where everyone puts up tons of Christmas decorations. I know from this picture it doesn't look that busy, but it was CRAZY. People everywhere, and police, and strollers, and 'For Sale' signs.

Dustin is on his dream biking day and I know when he comes home tonight he's going to say "Kinsey, how was your day?" and instead of ruining his day by truthfully telling him how my day was- I'll just say "you don't want to know." Today is the kind of day where I wished my mom AND my sister were here. Not one or the other. Both.
Don't get me wrong, I really am fine. Both kids are sleeping so I thought I'd take advantage and vent on the blog. It's really very therapeutic! I'm feeling better already! Trust me- today doesn't even compare to Brita-gate 2004 (Ames you know what I'm talking about!)
So my errands didn't get done, and my laundry is piling up (thanks to Ronin and his 4 outfits before noon), and my house isn't as tidy as I'd like it to be. And so what if I just got out of the shower and brushed my teeth and it's almost 3:00pm. Worse things have happened!
You know- in the past 8 weeks I've: had a headache, a backache, been completely sleep deprived, TRIED to look cute (ie. done hair and makeup) 5 times, SUCCESSFULLY looked cute 3 times, lost some weight but then managed to find it all again (and then some), grown ginormous boobs (I'm sorry- I know this is a family blog- but I'm venting right now, remember) and have NEVER accomplished EVERYTHING I set out to do in one day...but you know what...

They are totally worth it, and I've never been happier!

PS- I blogged a much happier blog last night so don't forget to read it!

I started this blog yesterday afternoon. The day went on and I still hadn't finished, so we left the computer on all night so I could finish it today. I had already uploaded the pictures, so all that was left to do was write some witty remarks about our everyday lives and the pictures I had posted. Well, it's 12:13 am- and as my title says "It's just not going to happen." And I refuse to keep the computer on again tonight- so enjoy the pictures-and good night!

Oh Canada!

I figured it was time to post my Canada trip pictures- because it won't be long before I'm back there again! We had such a great time visiting with Family and friends! Of course when we got back home I realized we hardly took any pictures, but oh well. The ones we did get are pretty cute.
Eden and her cousins. We got there just in time to play for about 2 hours, and then the cousins hopped on an airplane and moved to BC. We were so glad we caught them before they left...tear!

This could be my favorite picture of Eden...EVER! Isn't she adorable?! This is at the Cheesecake Cafe having lunch consisting of fries and gravy. Can you believe it our American friends...fries dipped in brown gravy!?! It's delicious! Much better than 'fry sauce'...weird!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Last Saturday morning, after listening to our little chatterbox talk to herself in her crib for half an hour, we decided that Eden was ready to be in a big girl bed. That way when she woke up, she could get out and play with her toys, or come wake us up, whatever she wants to do. We were right! She was ready, and she LOVES her new bed (well actually, it's not new- it's her crib converted to a toddler bed). Saturday morning we went to work changing it to a bed- and here are the results...

She's been in there for 4 nights now and every morning we've found her in her bed! I just had to add this picture because she's so cute- and because it shows her 'ouch' on her cheek. She stuck her head in the gap between the fridge and the cupboards and got stuck...poor girl!

That's what I'm blaming my month long hiatus from blog posting on. The batteries died, I thought we had more, I'd briefly look for them, get side tracked, forget about the batteries, go shopping, be driving home from shopping, "Shoot! We forgot to buy batteries, oh well, next time.", Repeat. That's whats been going on for the last month. Other than that...let's see...what have we been up to...

Eden has been spending a lot of time playing on the computer

We LOVE going to the park!!! This playground is actually an early childhood development school- so it's the PERFECT size for Eden! We had a picnic lunch here too- it was a really fun day!

Eden put her pajamas on all by herself! I think she was pretty proud!

Dustin FINALLY went biking and he had a bloody good time! I wanted to take more pictures of the injuries (yes there were more) but this is where the batteries died.

Last Saturday we went to OMSI (The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). It was SO much fun. Eden had a blast! They even had an area for little explorers ages 0-6 to run around and play. We will definitely be going back (especially if we get approved for a free membership, fingers crossed!)

This was hilarious! Eden and Dustin were at the dinosaur rubbing station making a picture. When they were finally done Dustin says "Here Eden, let's take home your pretty picture. We can put it on the fridge!" Eden takes it, walks over to the recycling bin, and throws it in! I guess it wasn't that important to her!

Later that beautiful day we decided to go for a long overdue bike ride. Can you believe we've lived here for 6 months and this is the first time we went riding. Eden didn't take a nap that day because she was too wired from the museum, so inevitably on the car ride over to the trail, she fell asleep. We picked her up and strapped her in the chariot anyway. It was like Weekend at Bernies! She was just so out of it! She woke up for the last half of the ride, which we were happy about because we saw a raccoon, a bunny, dogs, horses, sheep, tons of animals. She loved it! I was just happy I could still ride a bike a 27 weeks...so I had Dustin document it!

How do you celebrate being 21 weeks pregnant?

By going hiking...of course! Two weekends ago we decided to be adventurous and go hiking the Multnomah Falls. We couldn't pass it up- it was one of those (rare) beautiful sunny days in Portland, and we only live about 15-20 minutes away, so thought "why not"! Thank goodness we were wearing what we were because it was chilly. Sure it may have been 18 degrees, but when you have the cold spray from the falls, and shadowy trees are everywhere...let's just say Dustin didn't need to be wearing his sunglasses, and Eden could have used a pair of mittens! Overall, we had a great time. Dustin never asked me to carry both of his children, he had Eden on his back the whole way- switchback over switchback. It was a good workout! Here are some pictures of our very well documented adventure.

Here's that little behind I was talking about!

We had a GREAT Easter weekend! On Friday, it was family cheap night at the pool. We had never been swimming on family night....and I don't know if we ever will again! The place was a ZOO! Probably made worse by the fact that they had an easter egg hunt about 15 minutes before we got there. It was just a sea of scantily clad people. I was sad we missed the eggs though, Eden would have LOVED that. But we didn't go home empty handed! There was also movie promotions at he pool that night- The Tale of Despereaux (on DVD), and 17 Again. They do weird things in America! But here is what we ended up with:
a beach ball, a tank top, a sweat band, lip gloss, a lunch box, and mouse ears! I also had a Zac Efron poster, but Dustin didn't want me to hang it in our bedroom- so I left it at the pool! Anyway- we had a great night. It's so fun watching Eden at the pool. She loves swimming!

Saturday morning we went to a community Eater egg hunt in Wood Village. It was cold, but fun! And get this...the Easter bunny came...by helicopter! They had different age groups for the egg hunt- which was great. Eden's group went first (the 2 and under). One parent per child was allowed to help. It was so funny watching these adorable little wabbly walkers try to get to the eggs! Some of the parents went a little crazy- dragging their child by the arm, desperately trying to get as many eggs as possible. I even saw one Mom get in trouble! Eden loved picking up the eggs and putting them in her basket. Her favorite part was finding out there was chocolate in them! Yummers!

On Easter Sunday, we woke up and went to church. It was a great meeting. The program was all about the life of our Savior. When we came home, we decided to take a few family pictures. Eden in her new Easter dress (thanks Dida- Cathy!) she wore the pearls too!

But before I start writing about that...just to clarify:

We were surprised at how many people missed the fine print on the ultrasound pictures!

We had such a great time with Dustin during his first 2 week quarter break. We were sad that it had to end, but now he's already into his second week back and life (as we know it) is getting back to normal again. On the last Saturday before school started back up again, we decided to make a road trip to Cannon beach. BEST IDEA EVER!!! We had such a great time. We're not in love with America- but we could live in Cannon Beach. Dustin could open up a cute little practice, Eden and I would become professional kite flyers, and baby Gill (that's only his in the womb name...don't worry...) could be a pro surfer (sorry for stealing your dream Griff!). Ahhh, doesn't that sound wonderful. I'm so lucky to have such a great imagination! Anyway, Cannon Beach- we miss you, but we'll be back to visit again. And if anyone decides to come visit us- we'll take you there!!! Don't even get me started on the seafood... Best fish and chips ever! I still dream about the halibut. And they have a cute little candy shop where they make world famous salt water taffy....with a sample bucket!!! Alright, I don't know how I could possibly entice you more to come visit- so I'll cut it off here and get to more pictures.

I can't believe it either! I even got a second opinion. I guess I always wanted them in there. I didn't think it would ever happen, but there's more than one in there!!! It just seemed like a lot of work and responsibility. I mean so many things could go wrong. I went through all the emotions...excited, nervous, apprehensive, overwhelmed...hungry...

Wait...what did you think I was talking about? Oh no! I was talking about these!

Let me clear things up for you. When I said "I can't believe it either!" I was refering to the fact that I had actually taken the time to make home-made buns. "I even got a second opinion" meaning I asked Dustin "Can you believe there are really buns in our oven?!" so he got up and double checked- and said "Yup- there's buns in our oven.""I didn't think it would ever happen, but there's more than one in there!!!"...oh that... I've made bread before ( or one single big bun...) but never have I made buns! "It just seemed like a lot of work and responsibility. I mean so many things could go wrong." Isn't this self explanitory...I'm working with a lot of disadvantages- being a novice bun maker- crazy american flour (oh how I miss Canadian Robin Hood All Purpose Flour)- and not knowing if instant rise yeast worked the same as rapid rise yeast. By the time they were in the oven I had lost hope. I didn't want to think in just a matter of 20 minutes- my hours of prep time could amount to 9 cups of flour in the garbage. Luckily they turned out pretty delicious! I ate 4, or maybe it was 5 that night alone...Mmm...buns!

It's going to be a long post- so go take a break if you need one. Go get some food, Dad- call Mom down stairs to look at this...do what you do- and I'll continue.

She's getting so big. And she's quite the talker too!

She likes to brush her teeth- except when it's bedtime and mommy and daddy need to help. Then she sometimes throws a fit!

Oh! I moved my underwear drawer up so she couldn't reach it anymore, but I forgot to move Daddy's! Almost everyday she comes out from the bedroom looking like this...

I was sick for a while and blowing my nose constantly. Eden picked up on this so whenever she sees me blowing my nose- she goes and rips off some toilet paper and 'blows' her nose too! She's such a smarty!

I know it's blurry and you can't really see... but Eden somehow managed to 'draw' a perfect little happy face on her hand. That's right...she's advanced!

On to the next subject: Thursday night: 6:30 heading out to Eden's very first NBA game! (She looks tired already doesn't she.) Watch for her cheeks to get progressively more rosey as the night goes on, and her hand to go up and pull her hair as she becomes more and more exhausted!

As we were walking back to our car there was a group of kids (as in people my age) following us- to get to their cars too- Anyway- I 'm sure they were a little intoxicated, but they were going off about how Eden was the cutest kid ever. Direct quote "Aww- dude, look at that kid- she's like the cutest kid ever...look at her smile...no way are those dimples...cutest kid ever for sure man, seriously!" It was so funny! Eden was smiling and waving- and giggling at them. She got her second wind once we got outside. Overall great night! We had a fantastic time!

On to the next adventure: Our trip to Seattle! First stop: HUGE REI flagship store. We had so much fun here. Eden had a blast in the playground area. I think Dustin had a good time in there too! Here we met Uncle Bruce! It was so great to see him! We shopped around the store and then it was off to...

Pike Market!!! We saw fish being thrown and people begging for change. We walked the market, and then had lunch in a little restaurant there overlooking the ocean. Good over priced seafood!

That night we went swimming at the hotel and had a pizza party. Best part of the whole trip! We loved getting to hang out with Bruce! He's the best! Thanks for everything! We miss you family- come visit! Portland is nicer than Seattle- I promise!

I guess it's time we share our news with the blogging world...we're having a baby!!! Some of you might have already known....like my sister Amy. She knew I was pregnant before I did! She has strong psychic sister powers. Every time we'd talk she'd say "Do you have something to tell me...?" and I could honestly say "no". Anyway, this post is for her so she can see my growing belly bulge to prove that it's bigger than an"I just ate a big meal" belly bulge. We're due in August and couldn't be happier!

I LOVE this girl! She is just the highlight of my day- everyday! Eden is getting to be quite the little explorer. She'll go off by herself for 5 minutes or so and then come back and find me. It doesn't matter if the lights are on or off in a room- she'll close the door behind her- and then you'll hear a tapping at the door when she's ready to come out. The other thing you should know about Eden is she LOVES putting things around her neck (I know it sounds scary...). She'll try to put anything around her neck- like- burp cloths, socks, her dolly, toys, toilet paper, shirts, pants, necklaces (she's big into necklaces right now)- an actual scarf (thanks Aunt Cara- she loves it!). Anyway- this however was a new one...
Hope you get a laugh out of this...we sure did!!!

It's almost as if Dustin knew I needed something to blog about....

Last Friday afternoon after Dus came home from his gross anatomy lab he did what he usually does- says 'hi' to us and hops in to the shower to get the stink off. Eden and I were playing in her room- when we hear the clippers turn on. No big deal- he usually cuts his hair and then has a shower. So the clippers turn off and the water turns on. Five minutes later, we hear the water turn off (he's done his shower)- but we hear the clippers turn back on. It's like time stood still and everything happened at once. In a matter of seconds we hear the 'buzzzzz' of the clippers turn in to a horrid yell 'KINSEY', and Dustin is in Eden's room all of a sudden. Here's what happened....

After getting out of the shower Dustin thought he had missed a few hairs- so he went to fix it- except he forgot he had changed the setting to get a few stray hairs off his shoulders. He usually cuts his hair at a '5', this is a '1'.

Sad music from 'Arrested Development' if any of you watch that show. In the end he didn't have to cut all the way down to a '1'. We shaved his head at a '3' and it seemed to blend in ok. It must have looked fine- nobody said anything at teh BBQ that night!

Over the weekend we went to Barnes and Noble where we heard that Clifford the big, red dog would be making an appearance. We were so excited- we thought Eden was going to LOVE it....but here's what really happened. We got there right as Clifford showed up- 11:05am- Clifford sat down- we sang the hokey pokey- the kids got their picture taken- Clifford left- the kids got coloring sheets- and by 11:20 we were out of Barnes and Noble. The car ride TO the mall took longer than that! Oh well. Too be honest- I don't think the teenaged girl in the costume wanted to be there. Hopefully next time they get someone a little more animated.

"Mom...save me mom! Sure it looks like a dog on the outside- but look at his eyes- there's a girl in there mom... he ate her and now he's going to eat me too!!"

Our first day in Portland

Before we had even made it to our new home we decided to take a rest stop at the BEAUTIFUL Multnomah Falls. It was wet...very wet, but so worth it. Dustin, TR, and TerriJo were adventurous and hiked up to the bridge while Eden and I stayed down below to 'try' to take pictures. Everyone had a great time- especially Eden with her free sample cookie!

So this happened about a month ago, but I decided it had to be one of my very first blog entries. Eden and Dustin were playing 'who can make a louder noise when they fall on the bed'. Dustin was laying down on his side- he would pick up his hands and smack the duvet to make a loud noise. Eden thought this was SO funny, so she gets up on her knees and throws her whole body on the duvet making the same funny loud noise. This goes on for about five minutes- smack the duvet- giggle giggle giggle- smack the duvet- giggle giggle giggle-CRACK- AHHH!!! Eden had pulled one her signature moves. She held her arms out and open like she wanted a hug and then headbutted Dustin so hard they both had tears in their eyes. Actually, they might have both had tears coming out of their eyes too.
